International Congress of Young Chemists “YoungChem 2007”

International Congress of Young Chemists “YoungChem 2007”

This year's edition is going to be a special one… but let's start from the beginning.
In the beginning three guys set up Chemical Scientific Society "Flogiston" at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Warsaw University of Technology. And they said: "Let there be YoungChem". And they saw it was good. It was so good that they decided to make it an annual event. It was October 2003.

From its very beginning the Congress of Young Chemists - YoungChem has been an event organised by students and for students (including M.Sc.-s, Ph.D. students, Ph.D.-s and so on). Its main goal is to give an opportunity for young, skilled and ambitious scientists to present to international audience their areas of research, attend lectures by famous and respectable professors, meet industry representatives and, of course, integrate. Organisers do their best to create a rather informal atmosphere during the conference, keeping at the same time its high scientific level, all of which makes each YoungChem an event to remember.

"Flogiston" does its best so that the conference's every subsequent edition is better than the previous one. Since 2003 YoungChem has evolved from a modest congress for students from Poland and its neighbouring countries through a European congress into an international one, which attracted over 100 participants from 18 countries from all over the world.
10-14 October, Poland

Apart from its scope, each YC resulted in new friendships, international student exchanges and good memories of the time spent together. The Organising Committee hopes that the upcoming fifth edition shall keep this tradition and be at least as successful as the previous ones. Because of the 5th anniversary we are planning something special.

Time & location of Congress
YoungChem 2007 will take place in the 2nd week of October, 2007 (precisely October, 10th-14th).
Hotel Neptun is located on the Hel Peninsula (54° 40´ 53.50" N, 18° 42´ 45.72" E) in a famous spa resort – Jurata (look at the maps provided by Google for general overview). The unique climate, charm of the landscape and closeness to the Baltic Sea make it a pleasant place to rest in any season of the year.
